Bridgeport turns tables on Albany with shutout

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Juraj Kolnik had a goal and three assists, and
Jason Krog added two goals and an assist as the Bridgeport Sound
Tigers defeated the Albany River Rats 6-0 Sunday in the American
The Sound Tigers (42-24-7-3) took sole possession of the overall AHL
lead with 94 points, two better than Lowell. They also extended their
lead over Hartford in the East Division to three points.
Rick DiPietro made 20 saves for the shutout in his league-leading
29th win. In five games against the River Rats this year, he was 4-0-
1 with three shutouts.
Bridgeport scored twice in the second period and four times in the
third in their sixth win in the eight-game season series. The River
Rats (13-41-12-10) had snapped a 21-game winless streak Saturday
night with a 3-1 win against Bridgeport at Albany.
Scott Ricci had his first AHL goal in his 71st career AHL game. It
was the fourth-year pro's 16th professional goal overall in four
Kolnik now has six goals and 10 assists over his last seven games,
during which Bridgeport is 6-1. Krog has three goals and five assists
in a five-game scoring streak. Raffi Torres and Chris Armstrong also
scored for Bridgeport.
