Anything is possible with these writers, especially the Post and
News because they cover the Isles so poorly and never get into the
questions around the team. Hahn is not that much better and usually
keeps his articles to the players most fans know. IE:Czerkawski.
I would love to see an article as to who is staying among the
defenders and what Laviolette thought of who had a good camp and who
is playing their way into and out of jobs. How the Islander must cut
their payroll is something Hahn's writes about in almost every
> The big question is who loses their spot on the 4th line once Dave
> Scathard comes back? Do both Webb and Sutton make the team as
regulars? How many players will the Isles carry over the regular 20
players? Will the Islanders have any player under 23 yrs old on the
team? You kind of look at things differently when you realize Oleg
Kvasha is actually the baby of the team, he is by far the youngest
player on the team. Isbister who is the 2nd youngest is more than 14
months older than Oleg.>>
All good questions. Someone goes when Scatchard comes back, most of
these European defenders are not going to be here to start the
season. I think if Martinek played the last two games he is the one
going for a spot. Webb is always going to be a question. And this
year the youngest player on the roster is 23.
Of course this is still a young team with Snow, LaPointe, Haller,
Sutton as the 30+ club, but everyone is at or near their prime.
