This follows a directive by Port Development,
Shipping, Eastern Development and Muslim Religious
Affairs Minister Rauff Hakeem to Jaffna GA C.
Pathmanathan at a conference held at his Ministry on
Minister Hakeem told the Jaffna GA that when
re-settling displaced Muslims priority should be given
towards providing places of worship for them to engage
in their religious activities and schooling facilities
for their children.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Port
Development and Shipping said that at this conference
it was decided to set up several temporary residential
camps, for accommodating displaced Muslims until their
re-settlement in their villages and to undertake the
rehabilitation of devastated Muslim schools in the
Minister Hakeem also said that aimed to visit the
North shortly to inspect the present conditions of
previous Muslim villages in the North and take
necessary steps to restore them.
