They stand for Acres, Roods and Perches - and together, they tell you
how big the townland is.
1 Rood = 1/4 of an Acre
1 Perch = 1/40th of a Rood
Remember, the maps were created as a means to not only identify where
everything was, but also to record how big everything was so that the
right amount of tax could be levied!
