One of the conditions set by French authorities for the extradition of Ira Einhorn
is his ability to get a new trial in Philadelphia, which has been repeatedly
"promised" by current Philly DA Lynne Abrahams, in spite of his previous murder
conviction in absentia.
The below post to him from Einhorn's attorney, N. E. Gelman, forwarded by Einhorn,
describes a recent TV interview with a former Philadelphia County DA who cites
a Supreme Court decision clearly precluding a new trial, further evidence that
Abrahams is being "disingenuous" in her "promise" of a new trial to French authorities
in pursuing Einhorn's extradition.
Was the trial in absentia simply a blunder whose implications are now being
misrepresented by the DA, or was it a knowledgeable part of a plan to make sure
the full Ira Einhorn story never sees the light of a fair court hearing?
As the current election distractions totally overshadow the last 3weeks of vigorous
US backed Colombia war activities over the drug trade (our "next Vietnam" now
in progress), does the real Ira Einhorn story and his longstanding efforts to
expose this CIA/DEA/police-corruption-mafia-drug-smuggling-wars connection possibly
threaten Philly authorities recently implicated in the illegal drug trade coverup
with local police agency corruptions exposed by recent articles in the Philly
papers? (see http://www.egroups.com/group/ira-einhorn -- http://www.copvcia.com
-- http://www.egroups.com/group/cia-drugs )
Given the documentations at these sites of both Bush and Clinton "factions"
lonstanding involvement in this drug trade corruption, whose laundered profits
fuel both Democratic and Republican Parties, is it any wonder that the Einhorn
extradition is being pushed by the Clinton administration as well?
