      Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration, January 16 and 18

      The eighteenth annual celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King
      Jr. with Adas Israel Congregation, jointly sponsored this year with the
      Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ (UCC), will begin Friday,
      January 16 at Adas Israel, 2850 Quebec St. NW. Dinner at 6:30 PM will be
      followed by a special musical service at 8:30. Music will be performed by
      lay choirs of Peoples Congregational UCC and Turner Memorial AME Church,
      featuring the Heritage Signature Choral. For reservations contact Jean
      Bernard at 301-654-8914.

      The celebration concludes at 11:00 AM Sunday, January 18 with a special
      service at Peoples Congregational UCC, 4704 13th Street NW. Harriett
      Elam-Thomas, former US Ambassador to Senegal, will be guest speaker.
      Turner Memorial AME Church and Operation Understanding are also organizers.
