How to help start campaign
- To build a movement,
you (anyone) can easily get
started by sending a quick letter to
your local newspaper. Get the
word out that hope is on the way.
I read San Francisco has
dramatically improved elections,
and we should too. Instant Runoff
Voting ("IRV") ends polarized
elections and ensures that the
best (most popular) candidate will
win, unlike old-fashioned "plurality"
IRV ballots allow each voter to
mark our 2nd and 3rd choices, to
be counted instead if our 1st
choice cannot win.
Instant Runoff Voting ensures
better Democracy. New
Hampshire leaders should take
the lead. In 2004, voters
overwhelminglysuppported IRV in
Burlington, San Francisco,
Berkeley, and Ferndale, Michigan.
We need to modernize here, too.
