Subject: [instantrunoff] Google Trends for "Runoff" Cities

Today Google Labs introduced a tool that can track searches by city.
Typing in "runoff" it says the top
      U.S. cities are:

      1.
      Austin United States
      2.
      Madison United States
      3.
      Sacramento United States
      4.
      Minneapolis United States
      5.
      Denver United States
      6.
      Columbus United States
      7.
      Washington United States
      8.
      Raleigh United States
      9.
      Seattle United States
      10.
      Atlanta United States

The rate of searches done by a local population is probably more interesting than the absolute volume.  The first three cities have smaller populations than most on the list; so their rate of searching for information about runoffs is even higher than the bar graph of absolute volume.

This might be good a hook for local newspapers to run an op-ed on the local need and potential in IRV.
