      Dear Pat

      http://www.jracademy.com/~jtucek/email/download.php

      There is a java-script code who encrypt your emails into numbers and now your email address should be safe from SpamBots (computer programs that crawl the net looking for email addresses).

      Most SpamBots look for the give-away 'mailto:blah@...' link, and more complicated ones look for '@' symbols.
      With this script in your page, there's not a single 'mailto' or '@'. As far as the bots are concerned, it's just a bunch of meaningless numbers. This should help keep your email address off of future bulk email lists.

        Dear Pat,

        I use two approaches. First, this javascript:
        <script language=javascript>

        <!--
        // This Script was made with ASS Maker 3.1 (c)2000-2001 A.Madeira
        // http://assmaker.50megs.com/index.html
        function Contact0() {
        var tag1 = "mail";
        var tag2 = "to:";
        var at = "@";
        var email1 = "%20robert";
        var email2 = "rlweiner";
        var email3 = ".com";
        var subject = "";
        var cc = "";
        var bcc = "";
        var body = "";
        var ass = tag1 + tag2 + email1 + at + email2 + email3;
        window.location = ass;
        }
        //-->
        </script>

        Here's how I call it:
        <a href="JavaScript:Contact0()" onMouseOver = "imgAct('img2')" onMouseOut =
        "imgInact('img2')"><img src="images/contact_us.gif" alt="Contact Us"
        width="160" height="27" border="0" name="img2"></a>

        Second, I translated my email address into HTML code so I can display it on
        my web site as plain text without any telltale @'s or .coms appearing. This
        free tool will do the translation:

        Does anyone know what the script is to protect e-mail addresses on your
        website? I think it's a java script that protects your e-mail address from
        being harvested for spamming. ANy assistance you could give me would be
        appreciated. Thanks
