TO THE ANNOUNCED MODERATORS OF THE EGROUP:
Are these the kind of presentations and discussions
you are expecting?". Do you think this would help or
detriment the cause of the Church or your objectives?
THINK DEEP AND ACT PRUDENTLY. Discussions are always
good, but must be useful and helpful for the growth
and expansion of our Church ..our faith and beliefs,
not to annihilate faith and friendship.
> "For past more than 15 years I was researching about
the actual life and teachingof Jesus. The learned
people were suppose to teach the Laymen the truth.
If you study the history of the Church very closely
spend some real time on it youwill understand. In the
name of religion how they split the communities, How
they sentenced people to death. How the people
were brain washed and abused. You know that the church
is teaching that you are a born sinner and If you do
notdo what they say, you will go to hell (foreternity)
when you die and only the so called Christians are
saved and will go to heaven. You have to confess your
sins to the priest at least once a year and so on .
Well, what about Mahatma Gandhi and all the people
those who spent their whole life for great missions?
Inspired from the teaching of Jesus or Buddha and were
not the Baptized Christians. How about all those
hardworking, Scientists, Doctors, Poets, Engineers,
Fire fighters, Soldiers, Police officers, Technicians,
those who risk their life to save others, Teachers,
Nurses, Janitors, and Farmers all those sincere people
who lived all around the world and now living around
the world. From Rome they did a lot of things to
destroy the local churches in the east. in Kerala too.
And what you see in Kerala! Syro Malabar, Malankara,
Malankara syrian, Bava,Methran, MarThoma, Kananaya,
etc.., etc..., ?
Every time I read the Gospels of Matthew and John, I
feel that Jesus was never Intended the Church to
be big organizations. His teaching was simple and
universal. He did not give any importance to rituals
and Dogmas. He even criticized it. He clearly
explained and Taught the ultimate pathto Enlightenment
(Liberation) Mukthi or Moksha.
I love the teachings of Jesus. I am in a process of
learning it and following it in the real sense.
The Jesus now I know came to the earth to show the
example to the people. He lived a human life
like any other human being. Had many Incarnations.
Most Important ones are mentioned In the Bible old
testamentsit is a Two hundred thousand years story.
The total human development in Fivemajor race in five
continents He completed the mission and went back to
the Source and Came back. This time the name was
Yeshoo. It was about 2000 years ago as it is explained
in the Holly Bible. He grew up spending many years
in traveling since childhood. His journey includes
present day Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Northern
part of India. He spent many years In Egypt more than
any other land in preparation for the Crucifixion.
There is a song in the Malayalam Orthodox Pessaha
early morning Thursday. The son begins "Rahasyam..
Rahasyam..udayoon... aruly... Swargaadhi..natha..
thinnu.. nithyam. ... Haabel..ithare...thiru..
bali..yalae.." it tells the story.
many of the actual teachings were taken away by those
who prepared the Bible in the early centuries
specially during the first many centuries. In
Constantinople and in Rome.
Those who was in kerala could have preserved all
these. In the middle east there was always been wars.
In kerala it was the best place on Earth to preserve
all the teachings. Do you know Advaida vetantha
of Aadisankara and teachings of jesus has relations?
Do you think the hindu philosophy was not been
influenced from the teachings of Jesus? Don't you see
relationship with Buddha's teachings and jesus
Did you read the Gospel of Thomas from the Dead sea
scrolls or Nag Hamadi Library?. The church completely
Omitted all these. At least those who were in Kerala,
could have taught it because they knew the
Original language Jesus spoke, aramaic (Suryani)
and In kerala the church was Independent from Rome
and any other place. Instead they were blinded by the
Image of Rome and Antyokia and busy imitating the
Romans. When Saint Thomas Came to Kerala, He
accepted all the festivals and culture.
He was against the worship of Idols and statues and
eating food which was offered to an Idol.
Now when I go to the church here, I see a big picture
some one painted a man hanging on the cross which is
in front of the altar. The achan is facing to that
picture and do the prayer and rituals and the Qurbana
is offered to those pictures and distributed. In an
Orthodox Church according to the Orthodox belief
there should not be any statues or pictures in front
of the Altar. Only Icons are permitted. The Altar must
face to the east. If you go to Older churches in
travancore side in kerala, you will see a round window
for sunshine to come to the Altar.
The Construction of a Temple and Church had in-depth
symbolic relation with human Body. Also the Cross,
specially the Sleeba which has the 12 round flower
pedal shape around it. The Original Orthodox Sleeba
you may see in the old Syrian Orthodox church.
I am not trying to propagate any thing against the
church. when I study more I feel that I am
understanding the truth better, then I become
far from all these Mandane churches.
There is a real Lords church beyond all these. There
all are welcome as they are. Just like the song "Just
as I am..." and is explained in the gospels.
Well let me stop here rest in next. Will talk to you
later bye bye now.
Very Rev Thomas P Mundukuzhy, CorEpiscopa
