2nd round picks!
- Hello Hockey Friends!
Well, here I go again with my predictions! What can I say? The Hawks/Blues series was NOT what I thought it would be. That's the play-offs for you. I know there are a few Blues fans on this Board. I respect your team, they will be TOUGH to beat. I however have a Red Winged heart.
By the way, I threw that crystal ball out, it never worked very well anyway! I had 4 right and 4 WRONG! WOW! Should I even try this again?
Wings VS Blues (They will be singing the BLUES in St. Louie, cuz the Wings WILL make them see RED!)
Canes VS Habs (I remember how rough Carolina Hurricanes can be, the weather I mean. Hope they can match their weather patterns and storm through the Habs!)
Sharks VS Aves (This is where I would like Colorado to make their polite exit. A shark attack can be severe, I think this one will be. Get rid of the defending champ and it will REALLY feel like anybody's Stanley Cup.)
Leafs VS Senators (I have never been too keened into politics, so I'll go for the "nature" call. The only BLUE the second round series will see is from Toronto.)
Good luck with your picks everyone! Enjoy the games tonight!
"Pssst...Hey Professional Hockey Writers' Association: VOTE Chelios for the Norris Trophy... there is a case of Bud in it for you!"
- I'm surprised the only comments on this list about the 'Hawks / Blues series
was between Derry & Sam. I have to say congrats to the Blues & Johnson for
their performance. When ya can't beat the goalie your next option is the
Wings vs Blues Sorry Rae but I'm going with the Blues on this one.
Johnson's hot & the Wings' offense is not. Hasek doesn't have the best
play-off record in the league.
Hurricanes vs Canadians Even though the 'Canes knocked off the Bruins their
play-off games will be limited. Habs in 5. BTW I'd like to see Gilmour with
a hat trick in this series just for the Hell of it.
Sharks vs Avs I've been a Blackhawks fan since I figured out what hockey
was. The last few years since I couldn't root for the 'Hawks in the
play-offs I've rooted for the Avs. I guess I've gotta stick with tradition.
Leafs vs Sens GO LEAFS!!

- You're absolutely right. I don't know what I was thinking when I posted
that. The 'Canes knocked off the Devils, but their play-off stint will be
To me, the Canes knocking off the Devils was a very humorous twist of irony! Considering the fact that last summer the Devil's Captain went to PA to knock on Lindros' door and 'thumped' him. Just to let him know that he missed doing that all last season. A Pennsylvania reporter told Stevens - he had a lot of chances in the play offs to thump several players from Carolina.
Stevens classic response: "Yeah but that's the Canes, that would be like hitting your sister."
This year the Canes took the Devils out of the play offs. Stevens didn't have that 'dominate' physical play this season that he maintained last year. I wonder if Stevens has more respect for the Canes now.
