Last night produced moderate rain for Moosehead Lake in Maine resulting in
12-16" of solid smooth snow ice - an 8 on a scale of 1-10. The surface is
tightening now and will be sailable by tomorrow morning. No significant snow
is forecast through the weekend. You can, if the wind is right, do a broad
reach of 36 miles without turning around. Drive on launching is available in
East Cove on the southernmost tip of the lake in the village of Greenville.
Call Leigh Turner at 207 695 1100 for more information.
We'll be sailing tomorrow.
