by the Katter Australian Party. ... The issue of stolen
wages continues in Queensland - with Katter Australian
Party organsing a rally to demand repayment by the

17 Apr 13: "The Katter Australian Party (KAP) is taking the
side of Indigenous Queenslanders, calling on the state's
crime watchdog to investigate why $20 million in stolen
wages has not been paid back. But Queensland's Labor
government in 2009 closed claims for stolen wages in 2009
and the current Liberal National government says it won't
revisit the issue. "We're calling on this government to
come clean, to provide that amount to them that is owing,
and recognise the contribution that they made to building
up our country," MP Robbie Katter told SBS."

claims for stolen wages reparations and the remaining
21-million was transferred to an Indigenous education trust
fund. Elders want the remainder money paid out but the
current Liberal National government says it won't revisit

Guild has apologised after publishing racist slurs in its
once a year Perth-wide fund raising satirical newspaper -
Prosh. The annual university publication reaches tens of

19 Apr 13: "The Student Guild at the University of Western
Australia has apologised over the publication of a racist
article in a student newsletter. But for one indigenous
group, it's too little, too late. The satirical student
newspaper made jokes about petrol sniffing and alcohol
abuse in the Aboriginal community. An indigenous education
group in WA was supposed to get funds raised by the guild,
but now it's announced it won't be accepting any money.

an Indigenous woman to "get over" colonialism on Twitter by
saying he used 'inappropriate channels of communication'.
The West Australian parliamentarian, who is infamously
known to have boycotted Kevin Rudd's apology to the stolen
generation, was asked by a person with the Twitter handle
@thekooriwoman why he didn't attend the event. Minister
Jensen's replies included: "Hell, how long ago was

18 Apr 13: "Western Australia’s Federal Liberal Member for
Tangney, Dennis Jensen’s controversial views continue to
dog his patch of the political landscape. On Tuesday he
tweeted various insults that do not befit someone in
political office. His is not the first but it does come as
a surprise when it is from a highly educated individual.
He twittered to an Aboriginal lady, known as
@TheKooriWoman, who identifies as Gomeroi and who has many
Twitter followers – "get over" colonialism."
