Most standards, including those of ISO, require payments to purchase
paper or electronic copies. They can be expensive.

The Chinese National Standards (CNS) of the Republic of China
administering Taiwan are now available online for preview free of
charge in Chinese and English at http://www.cnsonline.com.tw .
However, most standards are in Chinese only.

When previewing, readers are asked what their names, companies,
telephones and emails are to receive update information. Unlike many
western countries, policies on personal privacy are not yet well
      respected or specified in Taiwan.

ISO 8601 is adopted as CNS 7648 in Taiwan, but CNS 7648 is unavailable
in English. Those who read English and Chinese will find CNS 7648
mostly a translation from ISO 8601.
