Just a note about interplanetary timekeeping,
(as I hinted some time ago),
using seconds might be an improvement
over the confusion of hours, minutes and days,
recalculated and adjusted on certain years,
dependent on which political regime is in power,
and contingent on the use of 'daylight saving Time'.

Notice how screwed up things get when humans
      change locations?

Get a load of what NASA/JPL is doing to bring traditional
      time-keeping confusion to another planet!

{ See the first fossil found on Mars at
      http://www.explorecraft.com/mars_fossil.htm
..., erh, assuming that's what it is )
