      Dear All:

I include here the translation of the Arabic article below about former president Aref.  I am grateful to Misbah Kamal for translating it in a relatively short time.  I also thank Osama AttarBashi for his feedback on the translation.

Below is an article in Arabic about Iraq's former president (1966-68) Abdul Rahman Aref.
Its title reads "The Man Who Governed Iraq Calmly - Who Lived Quietly and Died Quietly"

It is written by Kathem Al-Hamami in Aref's memory coinciding with his death on
      August 24, 2007.

I wonder if you, Osama, and I can translate parts or all of this article.  I am so overwhelmed
now and need lots of help for additional projects such as this.

I met with and interviewed the late Abdul Rahman Aref in June 2006. I also interviewed
his eldest son, Qais, and Abdul Wahab Al-Qassab.  In 2009, I interviewed Abdul Karim Hani
Abdul Lateef Al-Badri and Hassan Al-Bazzaz all in Amman for a documentary film on the
life and career of the late A. R. Aref.  I am hoping to do one or two more interviews before I
      begin editing it.

These are two trailers in Arabic with English subtitles that were posted on youtube in 2007:

Thank you for the good news about the article concerning Iraqi

I look forward to receiving it.

                Greetings,

Yesterday, I learned for the first time how to add email addresses to this group list, something I didn't need to explore before.

As a result, I added to our group two old members upon their request; Kanana Thabit and Mohammed Al-Moeithen.  Thank you both for phoning me.

                Dear Mohammed:

I added your hotmail address to this list, and bccd your yahoo address to alert you.  Kindly confirm receipt of this note.  If you

I want to dearly thank Misbah Kamal for translating (to English) a very interesting article about an Iraqi musician from the 19/20 centuries, Mulla Uthman Al-Mosully.  The article also mentions some of the famous songs of that era.  It is a fun history reading
I will forward it to you in few days.

                Best Regards,
