Ao hands up all those who have seen a Caracara, yep that includes me, I have seen more than a few and I have to say that they are pretty easy to Id even in flight, those parallel wings are soooo distinctive, and really unlike anything else you will see in this part of the world.
Of course I can understand hesitation to accept first state records, but some of the reasons to reject reports seem somewhat spurious. It Seems a bit odd when the species is prone to vagrancy but this one doesn't fit into the pattern, should that be thus far, and what about now?
Does a periodic review take place of previously rejected records? I would urge the committee to re- examine this report.
