      To all,

      IFCE held the 10th anniversary celebration event in Beijing on Nov. 2. Activities included reviewing the main activities in past 10 yrs, remarks by specially invited guests, award ceremony and a dinner banquet. Around 100 people from IFCE four offices in China, NGOs, businesses, media outlets and gov. agencies attended.

      Ping He reviewed the main activities and summarized the major achievements in past 10 yrs. He also discussed the plan for future development. IFCE will focus on supporting NGOs’ development in policy advising, training and funding.

      Prof. Feng Jun of Renmin University, Mr. Xiao Kunbao, of Chinese Env. Federation, Prof. Chen Shupeng, Academia of CAS and IFCE’s advisor, Mr. Liang Congjie of Friends of Nature, Ms Wang Yongcheng of Green Earth Volunteers, Mr. Tang Tianxing of Overseas Chinese Office and Mr. Luo Quijin of Doctor’s Forests Inc. made remarks to congratulate IFCE and to highlight the importance of international cooperation to solve the China’s env. problems.

      Award ceremony was held after the remarks. Mr. Liang Congjie of Friends of Nature and Mr. James Harris of International Crane Foundation won the Outstanding Achievements Awards.

      Ms. Ban Li of Shaanxi Women Federation, Mr. Fang Liangzhen of Wuhan Green Service Center and Mr. Li Zhihua of Shaanxi Little Swan Art Troupe won the Outstanding Contribution Awards.

      The best partner award winner is the Renmin University of China.

      Six students won the Chinese College Env. Forum Contribution Awards. They are Mr. Zheng Jian, Ms. Jin Shuhan, Mr. Zhao Yong, Mr. Ma Deli, Mr. Yang Zhiqiang, and Mr. Liu Wenwu

      A number of IFCE’s partners and friends made remarks during free speech time. Among them, Mr. Li Zhihua of Shaanxi Little Swan Art Troupe, Mr. Fu Kang of Greenhome Env. Center, and Mr. Ding Bi of Green Xiangjiang present calligraphy works to IFCE.

      Dr. Rei Liu, VP of IFCE, chaired the event.

      The dinner banquet was held afterward. Ping He thanked the sponsors including the China Operations, The Louis Berger Group, Inc. Doctor’s Forests Inc. Shenzhen Fenghe Env. Engineering Inc. and Black and Knight Law Firm.

      A dozen of Chinese media outlets covered the event, including Xinhua News, China Daily, South China Morning Post and Sina.com.
