      > Yesterday Byron & I went to see the touring show of Roundabout Theater Company's "Anything Goes" (which won the 2011 Tony Award for best revival). It's been touring the country since it closed on Broadway last year, and finally ended up here in Schenectady.
      > It was a total delight. The sets were marvelous, and the cast, although not (of course) the Broadway cast, were very well chosen for their roles. The lead female actress, Rachel York, can belt the songs out all the way to the back of the theater, and is a knockout as well. I felt that the actress playing the young ingenue romantic role didn't project quite as well, but since we were seated in the upper balcony, that may have been a matter of the theater's acoustics.
      > Costuming was also great. I especially liked the costumes for the "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" number in the second act. It was a Glitziana's delight, with lots of scarlet and gold sequins. There was plenty of glitz in many of the other numbers' costumes, but these were especially effective.
      > The tech crew provided some very interesting lighting effects throughout the show.
      > The show will be here locally (for those in the general area) at Proctors Theater, Schenectady, through Sunday, 7/14. I believe that seats are still available. Our seats in the balcony had a superb view of the stage.
      > The show will travel on from here to Toronto ON, Atlanta GA, Costa Mesa CA, Portland OR, and Spokane and Seattle WA. Dates and ticketing information can be found on the Roundabout Theater Company's website.
