Come Join Us! Museum Advocacy Day in Springfield is February 24!

      Hello IAM ListServ members,

Museums from across the state will gather in Springfield on Wednesday, February 24 to attend a training workshop, sponsored by IAM, Museums In the Park and the Illinois State Museum, that will focus on communicating and working effectively with lawmakers.  A discussion of the legislative issues specific to the Illinois museum community and visits with elected officials at the State Capitol will follow the workshop.

There will also be an evening legislative reception in the Governor’s Mansion. The Illinois Executive Mansion is one of the oldest historic residences in the state and one of the three oldest continuously occupied Governor's Mansions in the country.

Complete your registration and send it to the Illinois Association of Museums prior to February 12th.

All info on 2010 Museum Day, including registration, is now available on the IAM website at http://www.illinoismuseums.org.

Please help spread the word to your museum friends and colleagues through word of mouth, e-mails, phone calls, face book, twitter, listservs, and any other way that you communicate with the world at large.

See you in Springfield on February 24th!

      Thanks,

      Dave Becker

      IAM President
