Good Morning Doug, My 111 markers are in and I hope they will help is some part of our search for travel answers or connection. Thanks again for helping me understand this process. Dale Perry

      Wayne,

Harold Perry, Kit 201343 came back ancestral (negative) for the L700, as expected. Also, as expected, he tested derived (positive) for the two PF tests: PF6896+, PF6902+, also as expected. He and Monagan/Perry are also ancestral for L1226.

I know anohter Perry in our clan is negative for L705,6 and 7. And we're P78 negative. Thus all the Perrys as well.

So, this has to be a baffle for you and Ken now to unravel the placement of the P78 and the happy L704, L1226, PF69xx grouping.

It would seem to me the Watkins/Perry clan might need to be at the far end of the line, since we know L700+ in Watkins and the Perry line have common parentage in fairly recent times (-11 at 11 markers, with a good -4 match at 67 markers). And that Yeates and Wilson are not anywhere near related to Watkins/Perry in their STR markers.

Thinking L1226 might be a splitoff and then the L700+ Watkins (and any other L700+) would be a recent SNP. Or maybe a parrallel SNP to each other - but clearly, the L700 is a recent SNP (I guess L1226 could be as well?)

In any case, just tossing a few things around.

A big thanks for all the help - at this point, this research looks like it is breaking up the L700s a bit and challenging the placement - especially L700.

What do you think? Any conclusions to draw now?

      Doug Klein
      Harold Perry
      Kit 201343

Their STR markers add valuable information to those that carry out research on haplotypes and time to a common ancestor. We hope they will be equally interested progressing the Project goals for a better understanding of this sector of the I-M223 tree.

      > But Perry kit 241627 Benjamin Perry has only tested to 67 markers and is the same distance to Watkins as he is to kit 201343 at 67 (minus 4), so we may need to see if 241627 is closer to Perry or Watkins in terms of 111 markers. I'm working with Dale to see if we can get a 111 marker upgrade to help clarify, and also define his branchline - there are two others with similar history and markers.
