ps. I just wonder if the Birdie tune is called Oiseau Blue or Ocean Blue.

        Stop the press!

I received yesterday Nu-Progressive Era from Hooj.com (umixed 3CD version) and was I flabbergasted or what when I popped in the CD2 in my stereo here at work. The song in question is Adam Beyer's Remaining III (Jasper Dahlback Remix), which is in actuality the very same song I've thought to be Birdie - Oiseau Blue / Ocean Blue played by Hybrid in their Chamjam and Labyrinth sets.

So, the tune that Hybrid mixes Madonna's Music accapella is not by Birdie but this one:

        * Adam Beyer / Remaining III (Jasper Dahlback Remix)

        -antti

        ps. I'm obsessed.

I agree their are a lot of elements of Adam Beyer's Remaining III (JD
remix), but I also hear a lot of Birdie' Oiseau Blue (Casino Royale
Mix)not the original mix.It could be possible that Hybrid used all
three to create that mix. There were too many elements in Adams mix
that were missing, the song was much shorter than the Madonna Mix and
I think Hybrid used Oiseau Blue to give the song a smoother deeper
sound and longer play time. Just a hybrid of songs coming together to
            create an awesome tune.

Probably my favorite track off Laybyrinth. It could have come across
as real cheesy, but doesn't and it's a hardcore-pulsating dance tune
that tracks in at over 6 minutes! True brillance.

I also think it's real cool of them to put out a new DJ set
approximately every month that can be recorded. It keeps them fresh,
current and on the forefront of my mind. A day doesn't go by without
hearing a few hybrid tunes. Today - Radiohead, Madonna and U2 got a
lot of play. And, they are like the Grateful Dead of today - allow
these sets to be downloaded or traded, each one being very unique and
            different than the others.

I know Hybrid have only two full length CDs out, but I must have
about 18 hours of their music. Never grow old of them, because, they
would be broadcasting another live show in a few weeks or a remix is
going to be released to add something new to my collection. (Today
bought Vernon's Wonderland 12" to get the other version of the song
not found on the mixes CD.)

The industry's norm is after a group makes an album, they tour for 4
months, release two singles with lame b-sides (other words, songs
that didn't make the album cut), and then, you don't hear from them
for another four years. But, Hybrid is different by being generious
with their music by performing their DJ Mix sets live for recording
(Hint - Love to hear clubbed to death.) Keep up what your doing
Hybrid, keep cranking that music box, you boys are on a roll.

I've been listening to rock/punk/industrial/electronica since 73 and
Hybrid is by far the best kept secret I have ever witnessed in the
Music World. But one day I think they'll going to hit it big and with
that back catalogue, those EPs CDs are going to be worth a lot of
money. An example would be Fluke, who came out with some great tunes
from 93-96 until they hit it somewhat big with Atom Bomb. E-bay's
average selling price was about $20-$50 for a 93-96 CD single that
originally cost $4.99. I never put mine up for bid though.

Back to the original question, I think Hybrid used elements from both
the birdie song and Adam Beyer's mix with madonna vocals layered on
top. I can hear both songs and Chris did say it was that birdy song
when asked about it. Very creative, those lads. Also, it's not on a
white label it is on a birdy1 label. The original mix on the flip
side is a good tune also.

            > So, the tune that Hybrid mixes Madonna's Music accapella is not by
            Birdie but this one:
