In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

      March 1, 2007

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatuallahi wa Barakatuhu.

TO: Ibrahim Al Mugaiteeb, President - Human Rights First Society-
Saudi Arabia, the founding members of The National Society for Human
      Rights, and Attorney Abdul-Rahman Al-Lahem:

Insha'Allah this message finds you in the best of health and imaan.
      Amin.

I write today to implore you to take IMMMEDIATE action in the case
of Fatima and Mansour Al Timani.

Information has been disclosed to me from a confidential, reliable
source, indicating that the Ministry of the Interior is moving to
close this case - and not in the way neither we, nor Fatima and
Mansour Al-Timani would like to see it closed!

I have also learned that even yesterday Arabic print-media has
reported that Fatima ALLEGEDLY does not wish to remain in the prison
and will be taken to her family IN DAYS. Sources closer to the
scene report that the news is FABRICATED. NOT TRUE!!

However, my information also indicates that Fatima's
emotional/mental status is declining due to the prolongated state of
      her unresolved dilemma.

Imagine her suffering all these long months!!! Imagine her heart-
ache! She is a mother! She is separated from her daughter,
separated from her husband! She just wants to go home!! Please,
please, please!!! We MUST help this family!!!

The Ministry of the Interior wants nothing more than for Fatima's
step-brothers to take custody of her immediately!

If this happens, rest assured, these men will do nothing short of
marrying her off the very next day to the spouse of THEIR choice!
Fatima will be unconsoleable!! To be forecefully divorced is one
thing, but forcefully re-married is nothing short of EMOTIONAL
      RAPE!!

I implore you! Please! Let us shout out that this is injustice at
its worst! An injustice that threatens to cement a horrific
      prescedent!

For the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the rights granted to
us within the teachings of Islam, please HELP!! Insha'Allah.

      Ma'Salaama,

      QUOTE OF THE DAY

"The whole world is looking for humaneness. Anybody who works for
      faith,

nation and moral values will never be a loser."

      at Janadriya

REALITY CHECK! In the "Kingdom of Humanity" and under the guise if
the "Religion of Peace, Mercy and Understanding...how does the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia purport to defend the abuse of GOD given
rights, when we see the government of the birthplace of Islam doing
nothing to reverse the travesty of justice otherwise known as forced
      divorce?" Astafurgallah Al-Azeem.

The thing is that, while their efforts are commendable, numerous
human rights organizations keep playing the "international law does
not allow" card, when the FACT is that Saudi Arabia HAS NOT signed
either the 'The International Human Rights Declaration' or
the 'International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights'
      (reasons for abstention highlighted here:
      http://muslimahwritersalliance.com/files/saudi_human_rights_memo.htm)
AND even though Saudi Arabia is "listed" as a signing state to the
The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination
against Women (CEDAW), (another human rights protection document),
adopted in 1979 by the UN General Assembly, often described as an
international bill of rights for women, they also
filed "declarations or reservations" stating that: "In case of
contradiction between any term of the Convention and the norms of
Islamic law, the Kingdom is not under obligation to observe the
contradictory terms of the Convention." Now how a reservation
statement such as this can still qualify them as being a listed
participant of the Convention I'll never understand...

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------
      -----------

The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for all aspects of
government related to security and the protection of human life and
      property,
whose primary responsibility is to maintain the Kingdom's laws,
BASED ON ISLAM. [Text above directly from their own website]

The Ministry of the Interior needs to know:

      1. That The Ministry of the Interior will be held accountable by the
people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the world at large, and Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, for failure to uphold the organizations
      purported purpose.

      2. That silencing the media WILL NOT make the Ministry of the
Interior any less accountable for upholding that which is right and
      deploring that which is wrong.

      3. That if The Ministry of the Interior proceeds in closing the case
of Fatima and Mansour Al Timani by forcing Fatima's return to the
guardianship of her half-brothers, under the misguided impression
that public outcry for reversal of the travesty of justice in this
case will cease and desist, they are WRONG.

      4. The Ministry of the Interior needs to hear loudly and clearly a
united chorus of "WE WILL BE SILENCED! WE WILL NOT GO AWAY!"
