- Dec 9, 2010Hello again from the...maybe extremely lazy...moderator
Again and again i will try to excuse myself by saying that i suffer from "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome", which is quite serious, although not deadly. It means that i on a daily basis suffer with pain all over my body, combined with serious sleeping problems. Also on a daily basis i walk around like a zombie, and quite often every move hurts because of tiredness!
Luckily i don't always feel like that, and i also have good days now and then. But on those days i primarily need to take care of my wife and our appartement. In order not to go crazy, i just NEED to have some hobby also. Unfortunately it is more important to me to expand my movie collection than working on this group. I guess that i originally had hoped to feel better and have more energy.
So i'm afraid that this group presently can't be used for anything else than some important messages, like what i am going to tell in a minute, and to update my list of Vincent Price movies on a list which can be found on a list in the files section. I have probably received 100 new ViP titles since last update, but i am not totally done with typing them in yet. So i expect that it will take another 2-3 months before i intend to update my list. If any of you want to put in your list of ViP movies, feel free to do so!
As the person who probably owns the largest Vincent Price movie and TV collection in the world, i got the honour of organizing a celebration of our hero's 100th Birthday next year. This will happen in collaboration with several cinemas in Copenhagen in Denmark, where i live, most notably "The Danish Film Institute" (www.dfi.dk). We will show 10-15 movies, and at one special day, we hope to invite a special guest who is an expert on Mr. Price, or who has worked together with him.
So which person could we invite? I have suggested Roger Corman, Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, Sir Christopher Lee and Victoria Price.
Roger Corman was quite interesting for my partner, but when they earlier this year in another connection tried to invite him, he declined because he said that he was too old for such long trips now.
Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton and Sir Christopher Lee were too expensive. They didn't even try to ask for their prizes!
Concerning Victoria Price they first started out with a NO, but when they heard that she wrote a book about her father, they had to think about it...
Actually they prefer to find someone from here in Europe, who has written a book about Vincent Price. So do anyone of you know about such an author?
Or did i forget some names which we could try to invite? Maybe some not very expensive, but still a little famous English actors? In order to make this easy, you could just try to mention all those actors you can think of (from all countries) who worked together with ViP (as i love to call our hero), and then we will just decide over here if they are cheap and famous enough!
