Fall in Place for Winter!
Get ready now for the long, dark, muddy months of winter by learning great
ways to reduce mud, manage manure, prepare pastures for winter and more.
Join Horses for Clean Water on Whidbey Island for the following FREE events!
Preparing Your Horse Farm for Winter, PART I: Saturday, Sept. 21st, 10am to
3pm. Pasture management, weed control and wildlife enhancement. Many other
speakers & resources will be available, including Island County Noxious Weed
Preparing Your Horse Farm for Winter, PART II: Saturday, Oct. 26th, 10am to
3pm. Mud and manure management options. Additional speakers include Whidbey
Island veterinarian Dr Ken Leisher who will talk about horse health as it
relates to land management.
Professionally prepared slide show presentations, class materials & a newly
prepared manual accompany each program.
Workshops will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland, WA.

This program is presented by Horses for Clean Water. HCW is a program run by
horseowners in support of horseowners offering farm management techniques
that work for you, your horses, your farm and the environment. Program
Director Alayne Blickle, a lifelong equestrian, is an educator who has worked
with horse and livestock owners for over 12 years. Alayne is also a
contributing writer to local as well as national publications including
