legendary Sally Swift passes
- LEGENDARY WOMAN, AUTHOR AND FOUNDER
OF CENTERED RIDING LEAVES
THE HORSEWORLD IN MOURNING
Many of you have heard of or had a chance to study Centered Riding
techniques which focus on the bio-mechanics of the human and horse body, as
well as awareness and imagery. Centered Riding encompasses all riding
disciplines, as well as borrowing from martial arts and sports psychology.
Sally Swift, diagnosed with sever scoliosis at a young age, was the creator
of this program, authoring several books and videos and traveling world-wide
as a clinician into her late 70's. Sally passed away on April 2, 2009 less
than three weeks away from her 96th birthday. Her passing is a great loss to
the horse industry as she gave so much to the world through her vision and
discovery of a new approach to riding, as well as with her kindness.
Horses for Clean Water joins the rest of the horse world in celebrating her
life and the gifts she gave to us: a new language for understanding, working
with and enjoying our horses. Happy trails, Sally, and thank you.
