      FARM TOUR: Paxhia Farm Tour a 12 acre Vashon commercial horse property
      that works hard to maintain the heath of it’s natural features as well the
      health of as it’s Dutch Warmbloods. See beautiful cedar and fir trees as
      well as pastures, mud-free sacrifice areas, winter turnouts and a covered
      arena. An ecology block bin collects stall waste for give-away to Island
      growers. Learn about chore efficient horse management techniques that make
      horse life easier and reduce environmental impacts.

      Farm Tour: Alpacas Galore! Ten acres, 2 horses… and 27 alpacas! Join HCW
      to tour Kama'aina Alpacas and learn everything you ever wanted to know about
      raising alpacas and the alpaca industry! This beautiful alpaca farm features
      many practices including gravel turnouts with shelters, an arena sized for
      trail courses and round pen, an ecology block compost bin, chore-efficient
      Nelsen automatic waterers to conserve water and save on time, and conveyor
      belting and rubber stall mats which help with mud and manure management. The
      back of the property features a wildlife enhancement area for deer, elk and
      smaller animals. A riding path extends around the perimeter of the property.
      Plus, the owners want to share how having a KCD farm plan helped with
      permitting, allowing them to get cost-sharing and reduce creek buffers.

      Farm Tour: Seattle Police’s Mounted Patrol Unit Plan now to learn about
      Seattle’s Mounted Patrol Unit and the horses that help protect our streets.
      The Seattle Police have a beautiful 3-acre equestrian facility located in
      Westcrest Park that they have worked hard to set up and manage in a
      horse-friendly, green manner. They even have a KCD farm plan! Hear how the
      Mounted Patrol Unit manages the manure for seven horses, how they control
      mud in their large outdoor paddocks, hear about wildlife enhancement
      techniques and what the Unit does to live in harmony with their urban
      neighbors. This beautiful facility includes 12 stalls and a 75x130’ indoor
