Group Description

If you have an interest in Butchering and Curing Meat and would like to learn more or are interested in Smoking Meat or making Sausage at home in your Smokehouse this is the Group. Talk about how you make it or would like to know how other people around the world make there best sausage or how they cure a country Ham, come along for the ride and have fun.
Here is a photo of some Hams that I am rubbing with meat cure. It goes to show you that anyone can do it.
If you are having trouble finding a recipe or need help trying to develope your own recipe do not fear we are here to help. All you need to do is ask a question and we will respond.
I started this group over 10 years ago so people would have a place to go to learn how to Butcher and Process meat at home. I was hoping there were people like me that have a love for home made meat products. I like to know what I am eating, how about you. I also was seeing a lot of small butcher shops close and the great smoking processes and curing process being lost or taken to the grave with them. This is my atempt to preserve as much of that as I can.
Please share your knowledge, post your recipes and pictures, ask others for processes and recipes. If you see a new recipe and think you have a better one, post it for everyone.

Please check out the files and folders, there are some pretty good sausage recipes and information on curing meats.
