Group Description

Howard County, Maryland, groups (pantries, the Howard County Food Bank, human service agencies, faith/social groups, nonprofits, etc.) and individual advocates working together to strengthen food assistance services for our hungry neighbors.

HoCoFood allows us to easily:

> Communicate with those interested in supporting our hungry Howard County neighbors, starting with attendees of ACS's food assistance meetings and expanding to others in our area.

> List food resources, e.g., pantry lists (Christ Church Link's pantry list is already posted in the Files area)

> Announce if we have extra pantry goods to share or are in need of a particular item

> Share food assistance news, e.g., events, new providers, changes in pantry schedules/rules, proposed legislation, etc.

> Announce meetings (see Calendar) and post progress on the ACS-initiated food action committee, e.g., efforts to add nutrition education to food assistance efforts (see Files: Food Action Committee).

> Exchange ideas on common needs, problems, issues; suggest solutions; ask for help with specific problems

> Share brilliant ideas on better serving our clients

> Suggest any other useful purposes for this quick link.

It's free, easy and helpful to us all -- and our clients.

SUGGESTION TO MEMBERS: When you post messages, please sign with your name and organization, if there is one. E.g., Linda, CCLink/FISH
