What:  Aiken Youth Orchestra Spring Concert
      When: Tuesday, May 8th @ 7pm
Where:  Aiken Center for the Arts
      Cost: Free!

The Aiken Youth Orchestras (AYO) will end their spring season at the ACA with a performance on Tuesday, May 8. The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Founded in 2002 to provide young string players the opportunity to perform as part of a group, the program now has musicians in its two divisions representing area public, private and home school programs.
The orchestras are under the direction of Joe Laorenza and Angela Shaw.

The String Orchestra will perform works by Dvorak, Shaffer, and Fenske.  The Full Orchestra’s performance will include a Vivaldi flute and violin trio, Meyer’s Ghosts of Brandenburg, Saint-Saens’ Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah, and selections from Weber’s Phantom of the Opera.  The combined orchestras will perform the theme song from the Flintstones.

Graduating seniors Kendall Driscoll, Sami Cooler, Robert Freeman, and Devin McCray will play their final concert the Aiken Youth Orchestras.
