Would you be available to meet with us on Monday, May 23 at 10:00 AM? We could meet in RPSEC 305 (third floor conference room). If that day and time do not work well for you, let me know and we will find another time that week. Thank you.
      Deborah

We meet regularly on thursdays at noon, so almost any day works for me except after noon on thursday. Everyone that I have talked to is very receptive. Thank you so much for considering us.

      Dear Mrs. Jara,
Gary Senn, Darlene Smalley, and I have met several times to discuss your request. Based on your suggestion, we are very interested in creating a special program to better meet the needs of home school students.

We have begun working on a proposal to offer a yearlong, monthly series of programs for elementary and middle school home school students. However, because we have already published and mailed our 2011-2012 program offerings, and we are already receiving reservation requests, we will not be able to implement such a comprehensive program right away. We could consider piloting a short term version of the program beginning in January 2012. If it is well received, we could advertise the full program in our April 2012 mailing, and then implement it the following fall.

We are interested in meeting with you this summer or fall to get your feedback and finalize our plans. We would like to discuss the programs we can offer and how we might approach other home school parents. Please let me know if you are interested in helping us with the planning, and if so, when you would be available to get together.

      Thank you.

      Good morning Mrs. Jara,
Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate your suggestion to offer weekly classes for home school students. My biggest concern is making sure that we have a minimum number of students for each class. We are on a very tight budget and short on staff, so we have to be careful with our limited resources.

I will bring this up at our next staff meeting and will get back to you as soon as I can.

      Thank you.

I am one of many homeschool moms in the area struggling with teaching science. Everyone loves the classes they take at the Ruth Patrick Science Center, but we want more. It is hard for us to sign up for classes in the summer in hopes it works into our curriculum or we can get enough students to attend. I love the Traveling Trunks. I tell every homeschool mom I can how great they are. It is the same thing, though. it is hard to get motivated to teach science. Most kids love Science. I've talked to a few moms and agree how wonderful it would be if you had a weekly science class for homeschoolers. I know we pay for weekly writing classes. Others pay big money for Art and music lessons. I was hoping you might consider putting together a weekly class. One for elementary, and one for middle schoolers. Thank You for your consideration.
