When I was in Seattle the Boeing Employees Flying Club had large scat tubing to put over a car exhaust and long enough to put into the cowling of their 172's and 182's. I could sit in my car, sip a Starbucks and listen the radio as I waited for the engine to warm. I flew all winter as weather permitted. Rain and snow stopped me but never cold.

I had an HKS powered Avid M4.  For preheat, I used about 8 Ft of Scat Hose with a paint stripper stuck in one end and the other end pointing up into the engine compartment.  It took about 15 minutes to get the temperature of the entire engine and oils system warm.  I use the same method on my SportStar.  Make sure you have a vent at the top of the cowl.  I just open the oil access hatch to get good airflow.

      Hello everyone,
I am writing to ask if anyone in this forum uses one and can recommend a suitable engine pre-heat system for the HKS 700E which can preheat the oil pan, engine and oil tank.
      Thanks,
      Harish
