Gulf Coast Storm Spotters (GCSS) is a specialized group of individuals that is dedicated to the protection of life and property in regards to severe weather. We are proud and honored to be a division of the Lone Star Storm Spotters Network (LSSN), a dynamic group of SERIOUS, DEDICATED, and COMPASSIONATE storm spotters that wish to provide a much-needed public service to the residents of Texas. GCSS and LSSN share the same ideas and concerns, and the two groups work together extremely well.

Now, just because the name of this group is "Gulf Coast Storm Spotters," the name does not indicate the only members here live along the Gulf Coast. Instead, we welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to learn and grow in this very important endeavor to learn about severe weather and the protection of lives and property. We also welcome input from all members, and are also there to assist you in any way we can.

We do not "chase" storms...instead, we assist the National Weather Service (NWS) by providing ground truth reports after a study of Dopplar Radar in a severe weather event.

You will learn about SKYWARN, an organization sponsored by the NWS, with volunteers willing to devote their time and expertise. If you're interested in learning our craft, please join us, and be prepared to learn just that much more about weather and its effects.

Thank you for visiting our site; please visit again soon...or better yet, join us!
