The angle plate & clamp across the front does one heck of a lot to improve
column rigidity, but it still could use more. I believe I'd go with some
braces up the side and back like a couple others have done. Still, even
feeling that way, I've used it happily for over 2 years with the current
bracing and haven't been motivated enough to do the rest. Partly because
it would also mean modifying the Y and Z axis DRO installations. I don't
think I'd be without the bracing dons so far, it needs something.
Another thing is filling the column with lead shot. That would reduce
vibrations a lot. I have the shot, just haven't felt like tearing down a
