      Hi Guys
Just Received this email from Leslie Cannold having attended a
discussion forum on this topic earlier at Macquarie St about a month
      ago.

I thought some would be interested in getting actively involved in this campaign

      To:

      Dear NSW Pro-Choice Supporter,

I am contacting you as someone who, as an individual or part of an
organisation, had indicated an interest in being actively involved in
a campaign to remove abortion from the NSW Crimes Act. Thanks for
      coming on board.

The first step in reforming NSW abortion laws is for all of us to meet.

The date and place for a first campaign meeting is:

      Date: Tuesday, 23 June 2009
Place: NSW Parliament House, Jubilee Room
Time: 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with a meal break

The meeting will commence at 4:00pm and run until 6:00. After a short
break, key pro choice MPs will join us from 6:30 through to 8:00pm.
Currently, these include Greens MP Lee Rhiannon and Labor's Helen
Westwood. It is hoped that, at some point, a Liberal and National
      parliamentarian will come on board.

I realise this makes for a long day but as some people are coming from
regional or rural areas, it makes it easier for them if we pack in as
much in as possible. The Greens have generously agreed to arrange for
some sort of substance during the break, so we all don't faint!

Broadly speaking, the agenda for the meeting is:
      1. For everyone to get to know one another's names, skills and interests

      2. To develop campaign aims

      3. To develop campaign strategies, tactics and working processes that
will assist us to work together to achieve our aims.

I have agreed to facilitate this meeting in my role as the coordinator
of Pro Choice Victoria, a coalition of individuals and organisations
that successfully campaigned to reform Victoria's abortion laws. I
look forward to meeting you all and sharing what knowledge and
infrastructure I have from the Victorian campaign, to get the NSW ball
      rolling.

If you do intend to come on Tuesday the 23rd, RSVPs are essential.
Please let me know you can come ASAP by return email.

If you want to invite someone else who you think would like to be
actively involved in the campaign, you may pass on details of the
meeting. However, please take care when forwarding this email. Those
opposed to abortion rights are everywhere and we wouldn't want our
first meeting to be marred by protest.

If you can't come but do want to remain on the list please let me know
      by return email.

If you would like to be removed from this list please let me know by
      return email.

I very much look forward to meeting you all on the Tuesday June 23rd,

      Leslie
