Mufty to join Rally calling for troops out of Iraq

The Mufty of Australia his eminence Sh. Taj Aldin Alahilali will join
other community leaders at an Auburn rally calling for troops out of
Iraq on Sunday 11 April 2004.

"The escalation of violence in Iraq proves beyond doubt that occupation
and military force have NOT brought freedom to Iraq, the occupation, now
in its third year, is the cause of the bloodshed and destruction." Said
Mr. Keysar Trad, Director, Lebanese Muslims Association and close
associate of his eminence the Mufty.

"The Iraqi people have united as never before in the face of the
occupation, their resistance to the military might of the US led
occupation is a message to the world community that American led
aggression in Iraq will not be tolerated. Iraq is for the Iraqi
people. The coalition should withdraw from Iraq immediately." Said Mr.
      Trad.

"The longer that the occupation continues, there more loss of life. The
US led occupation forces have indiscriminately killed civilians, bombed
mosques and targeted people inside hospitals. There are thousands of
wounded who cannot be treated, there are thousands of dead bodies in the
streets that cannot be buried. The US led aggression has sunk to the
lowest depths of inhumanity in Iraq." Said Mr. Trad.

The Mufty has sent a letter to Mr. Bush calling for the cessation of all
bombardment and killings and calling on Mr. Bush to find a peaceful way
to pull coalition troops out of Iraq.

      Detail of the rally:

The rally will commence at 2:00 PM On Sunday the 11th April 2004 from
the Corner of Patrick St. and Auburn Rd. and proceed to Auburn gardens
at the corner of Station and Rawson Sts. Auburn NSW and will arrive
there at approximately 2:30 PM where the Mufty and other speakers will
      address the crowds.
