      You neglected to post the first sentence of my mailer which sought to
      resurrect a point Mr Pham had raised in criticizing the Socialist Republic
      of Vietnam. I was pressing him because I thought the list might profit
      from his vision of what, exactly, constitutes a "responsible global
      citizen". After all, the give-and-take of opinions is what you are aiming
      for, right?

      Of course, I closed with a bit of hyberbole, but like all satire, the point
      I thought was politically germane. People who "suckle" the government teat
      in this country generally tend to be white, middle-aged Republicans. Cobb
      County, Georgia leads in that regard and is rife with opinions very much
      like Mr Pham's. Sorry you missed it.
