      Alan Bradley:

      >The interesting thing about this thread is the degree to which it
debunks Bob Gould's "monochrome sect" characterisation of the DSP.>

The document Doug Lorimer pointed to yesterday
points out that Cannon opposed expelling Arne Swabeck even though he
was trying to win the SWP to Maoism and openly defying discipline.
Even in those circumstances, Cannon favoured the educational approach
      of vigorous discussion.

I guess LF, expelled from the DSP last year for collaborating with
other leftist students on his campus
      http://melbourne.indymedia.org/news/2004/08/77884_comment.php#77921 ,
was a lot worse than Arne Swabeck. How could Bob Gould possibly accuse
the DSP of being a monochrome sect?

Would the expulsion of LF fit better with the discussion-strangling
post-1965 internal regime of the SWP or the earlier approach of Cannon?

PS. Rohan, have a look at your site. The home page doesn't work and
the link Doug posted doesn't work either, although the Breitman-Cannon
material is still accessible through Google (with a bit of work).
