10054Re: An open letter to ALP members on Senate preferences
- Oct 17, 2004Alan you big softy!
I have for months been trying get Bob and his supporters to tell us
what sort of socialist activity they carry out inside their respective
groups to win people to the socialist cause.
Contrary to popular opinion, I and other socialists would be only too
happy to see a viable organised socialist wing inside the ALP if it is
at all possible these days. Bob in effect continually counterposes
Socialist Alliance activity to the ``non-sectarian'' approach he
espouses, presumably with the hope that some SA members will see the
light and join him inside the belly of the beast.
Bob spends so much time bagging the SA, DSP and other socialist
groups' activities and views on this list but rarely informs us of
what he thinks socialists like should be doing instead. There is very
little evidence that he is carrying on an ideological battle in the
ALP at the same intensity that he subjects this list to.
I really do hope he fought that rotten right-wing deal before the
election (I am asking, perhaps a little rudely, I admit, for some
evidence of that) and is not simply covering his posterior afterwards.
