The person that worked for H&R did tell the hispanics, who stated they were married, then when they started dividing up the SS cards claimed they were not married (because they could get a bigger unearned income under the heading of HofH than married or single), and the preparer did tell them to leave because was not able to do their taxes, the issue here if  they had been in the hands of someone else they may have gotten away with this ... this is just one of thousands of cases I know about since I have done this work for over 40 years and it has been going on for many many years... it is just getting worst each year as control has been lost in the check points of keeping things in the right perspective because the Government is too big and out of control which they have no controls(where do you think all the funds come from for all the illegal tax refunds paid out and the food stamps, guess where, next time you get your paycheck look at the withhold and the FICA withholding -remember the FICA is matched by your employer and when you double it - it is more than the Federal Income Tax amount-isn't that interesting - why because that is what is paying for all the social programs for the ILLEGALS) ...another issues speaking of how out of control IRS is they are just now auditing the 2006 tax returns, "WE THE PEOPLE" are only required to keep returns for 3 years, which in this case the statue time frame would have expired April 15, 2010 which many people throw out their paperwork, well guess what if you get audited you have to recreate it even if the statue has expired, if you don't have it IRS takes their figures and immediately withdraws the taxes owed from you bank account...that is what electronic filing has done for people...if you need more information just ask because there are many more stories from where those come from...
The reason the Illegals are called Illegals Immigrants is because The Constitution/Bill of Rights say so if they came into this country through any other means than the proper procedure put in place by our Country to enter & become a citizen of this country of The United States of America, then they are CRIMINALS and they are here illegally (until such time they become CITIZEN, oh yeah, criminals aka illegals cannot become citizens, supposedly) ...call it what you want to but the Illegal Immigrants broke the law and the LAW should be enforced for them just as the 2plus millions sitting behind bars for breaking the LAW.
In the 60s and 70s the most common name used for fake S.S. Cards was George Washington, isn't that interesting...

your opinion yes, but not entirely true. As for your friend at H & R Block...if that story is truthful, why did this person not seek the authorities? Why would they even assist in filing tax returns? They then become criminals too! As for "illegals"....sorry, but no one is illegal and that term is passe. Immigrants are now and have been a growing number feeding mass incarceration, foster care, and private prisons. It is the corporations who legally get away with tax evasion that are costing us billions- and the Wall Street Robber-barons. Its crap like this that takes away from the real issues at hand...and yet people fall for it hook, line & sinker....C'mon sheeple, wake up...its not the PEOPLE - its the GOVERNMENT.

6/24/2013 PAPA says: there are programs that businesses uses that reveals that the company has made duplicate payments or more than once. If this program can do this for  businesses then why can't IRS have a program that reveals if more than one check is being sent to the same address & kick the checks out for "hands-on" inspection and questions...because, no one cares is what the issue is ...it is just MONEY, your MONEY as taxes keep going higher and higher to cover this stupid business practice. Time for you, The TAXPAYERS, write your Congress person letting them know you are no longer going to support such an inefficient operation such as the IRS, bonsues of millions, conferences costing millions, payment to non-citizens of this country, illegals, etc...just makes you go ouch as to why so many are on food stamps...one of my long time friends who worked for HR Block related to me that people would come in with a fist full of social security cards and split the cards between the two of them right there in front of the preparer to file tax returns to get that unearned income credit to the maximum amount allowed...people wake up, call your congress person letting them know you are no longer tolerating this abuse of the government...they make us be accountable so who should be more accountable than the people...My Opinion, Flo, PAPA

The IRS sent more than $46 million in tax refunds to 23,994 “unauthorized†alien workers who all listed the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to an audit report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).
However, the Atlanta address that received millions of dollars in refunds was not the only address apparently housing thousands of “unauthorized†aliens. In fact, it wasn’t even the only address in Atlanta that was claiming such a situation.
The TIGTA audit report, published last year at the request of members of Congress, revealed 10 addresses in the U.S. that were issued anywhere from 1,846 to 23,994 tax refunds each. Four of those 10 addresses were located in Atlanta.
      CNSNews.com breaks down the report:
The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.
Other locations on the IG’s Top Ten list for singular addresses that were theoretically used simultaneously by thousands of unauthorized alien workers, included an address in Oxnard, Calif, where the IRS sent 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874; an address in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the IRS sent 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212; an address in Phoenix, Ariz., where the IRS sent 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608; an address in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where the IRS sent 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302; an address in San Jose, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027; and an address in Arvin, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877.
TheBlaze has reviewed the audit report, posted on the Treasury Department’s website, to confirm the information in CNSNews.com’s report.
The TIGTA report explains that the IRS since 1996 has been issuing what it calls Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to both non-resident aliens who have tax liability in the U.S. and illegal aliens living in the U.S. but who are “not authorized to work in the country.â€
Washington has apparently been aware of the problem for the better part of a decade.
“The IRS has long known it was giving these numbers to illegal aliens, and thus facilitating their ability to work illegally in the United States. For example, the Treasury Inspector General’s Semiannual Report to Congress published on Oct. 29, 1999—nearly fourteen years ago—specifically drew attention to this problem,†CNSNews.com explains.
Here’s what that nearly 14-year-old report warned: “The IRS issues Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to undocumented aliens to improve nonresident alien compliance with tax laws. This IRS practice seems counter-productive to the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (INS) mission to identify undocumented aliens and prevent unlawful alien entry.â€
Yet, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, the IRS assigned 15,028 unauthorized aliens ITINs at the same address in Dallas, Texas, and 10,356 ITINs at the same address in Atlantic City, N.J.
However, CNSNews.com’s Terence P. Jeffrey says this is the “most remarkable†act by the IRS:
It assigned 6,411 ITINs to unauthorized aliens presumably using a single address in Morganton, North Carolina. According to the 2010 Census, there were only 16,681 people in Morganton. So, for the IRS to have been correct in issuing 6,411 ITINS to unauthorized aliens at a single address Morganton it would have meant that 38 percent of the town’s total population were unauthorized alien workers using a single address.
There were a total of 154 addresses across the U.S. that appeared on 1,000 or more ITIN applications submitted to the IRS, according to the TIGTA.
