I don't think it's too rich. I suspect your cultures probably just need a little time to fully come back to life. My cultures got very small for a while, toisisferal
have started using my water kefir grains again after a small hiatus. I put them in New Zealand artesian water with organic whole cane sugar, a bit of email@example.com
You won't have to wait long to get your kefir grains. There are people here who have made distributing kefir grains their cottage industry. We hope you consider doing so also. Or at least be willing to pass on your extras even if only once in a while. We will teach you how to package and ship fresh ones for short trips and we will teach you how to dry them for longer trips.
We encourage the distributors to charge a fair price, fair to the giver and fair to the receiver. You may give them away for free if you want, however, kefir grains generally get a better home if they are paid for. Also the producers are more likely to put forth more effort into keeping their kefir grains healthy if they are getting a fair price. It makes it worthwhile.
We encourage questions. We encourage experiments. Seekers of kefir grains can look in the database for someone close to them. We would like to keep clutter to a minimum so please trim your posts. Sign your name to all your posts. It is the courteous thing to do. And please, no off topic posts. This discussion forum is about milk kefir grains and water kefir grains only. But fear not, there is an Off Topic Chat Area located in a database. There is already a wealth of information there.
