Geno 2.0 comments from the FTDNA admin conference
Great conversations regarding GENO 2.0 going on at the Yahoo U106 discussion site.
This weekend is the FTDNA admin conference in Houston. I couldn't make it, but Charles Moore is there. Charles is one of the admins for our Gillespie DNA Project and the Haplogroup R1b U106 DNA Project.
Charles and others are reporting info about the National Geographic GENO 2.0 at the Yahoo U106 site as it has been revealed during the conference. GENO 2.O will eventually replace the FTDNA Deep Clade Haplogroup test.
GENO 2.0 must be purchased directly from NG and a new DNA sample must be provided. Results can later be transfered to your current FTDNA kit personal page.
FYI - very important!! - keep track of all numbers connected to the GENO 2.0 kit. If you lose them you will not be able to access your results and NG and FTDNA will not be able to help. If you purchase a GENO 2.0 kit for someone else, it has been suggested (following a very expensive disaster where numbers were not recorded by testees on kits paid for by another researcher) that you first ship the kit to yourself, copy all numbers for safe keeping, then ship the kit to the testee.
Please use the link at the top of this message and go to the U106 Yahoo site to read their comments - too numerous to duplicate here. Things are about to become very complicated.
