      positions available:

      Manager of Outreach Education
      Full-time position, Monday - Friday, some weekend/evening work as
      needed. Anticipated start date as soon as possible.

      The Bruce Museum seeks experienced museum educator to direct the
      museum's outreach program. The Manager of Outreach Education is
      responsible for the implementation and supervision of all outreach
      programs for schools, senior centers and off-site groups, i.e.
      libraries and social service organizations. This encompasses the
      development of programs primarily in natural sciences, and the hiring,
      training, scheduling and evaluation of paid Outreach Instructors.
      Additional responsibilities include maintenance of teaching materials,
      responsibility for the use of the Museum's two vehicles, and
      supervising the Museum's Jr. Educator program by recruiting and
      training high school museum instructors.

      Bachelor's degree, graduate degree preferred, in science, natural
      history, education or museum studies with 2-3 years of demonstrated
      teaching experience, preferably in the museum field. Valid driver's
      license, unattended mobility in object handling, and the ability to
      drive the museum vehicles and visit facilities unequipped to
      accommodate the physically challenged are necessary.

      Museum Educator

      The Bruce Museum seeks an energetic educator for an active education
      department. The Museum Educator is responsible for teaching
      inquiry-based, hands-on, art and science programs for both
      museum-based and outreach programs in area schools. The Educator is
      expected to be able to teach all programs as well as develop new
      programs with assistance of Museum Education Department staff.
      Additional responsibilities include maintenance of teaching materials,
      responsibility for the use of the Museum's two vehicles, and assisting
      with the Museum's Jr. Educator program supervising and training high
      school museum instructors.

      Teaching experience, and a Bachelor's degree in education, science,
      art, museum studies or related field, is required. Valid driver's
      license, unattended mobility in object handling, and the ability to
      drive the museum vehicles and visit facilities unequipped to
      accommodate the physically challenged are necessary.
