POLY--NESIANS / PACIFIC ISLANDERS
(Somoans (Samoa); Chamorros
(Guam); Tongans, (Tonga), etc.)
**The Pacific Islanders originally
lived in Africa and southern China.
**Polynesians have a mixture of
these Mongoloid & Negroid features.
**Australian Aboriginals share the same Negroid
- example. frizzy or tight curly hair,
darker skin, nose shape, height & body types - as do the
peoples of Melanesia ( Mela = black & nesia = islands )
ex. Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, --->
Fiji ( borderlines ). Fijians & Tongans have more
negroid characteristics compared to other Polynesians.
Fiji islands is the border between Polynesia & Melanesia.
** Scientific scholars of Hawaii ATTRIBUTE THE POLYNESIANS
AS THE BLOODLINE INTERMIXING OF AN ANCIENT MONGOLOID
RACE OF FOREBEARS AND A NEGROID RACE OF FOREBEARS
Malayo-Polynesian is a consequence of influences
yet GENOTYPES & PHENOTYPES AFFIRM the
Hawaii scientific determination.
Fiji is the melting pot of the Melanesians to
the west and the Polynesians to the east.
The name Melanesia is derived from the Greek
words melas, "black," and nesos, "island."
The Melanesians in general have negroid features
brown-to-black skin, flat or hooked noses, full lips,
and wiry hair -- but the interbreeding among the
successive waves of migrants resulted in many
subgroups with varying physical characteristics.
THAT'S WHY THE FIJIANS LOOK MORE
AFRICAN AMERICAN THAN POLYNESIAN.
Their culture, on the other hand, has many Polynesian
elements, brought by interbreeding and conquest.

Famous Samoans: Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. "The Rock")
COMMENTS FROM ANOTHER POSTING GROUP:
"Hey, what is the history of Tongans and other Polynesians?
Are they a mixture of Asians and so-called Negritos
(the Asian black peoples that were once indigenous to the
Andaman Islands, South-East Asia, Philippines, etc?).
I always thought that Tongans, Fijians, Maori, Samoans, etc.,
had too many features in common with mixed people of
African descent to be a specific racial group to themselves.
"[A]ncestry mixing comes in all forms.
Some show it more than others.
Depends on the recency of the mix, and the region.
Some populations are so multigenerationaly mixed
that a person of recent mix would be confused
as just another person of the group.
The beauty of the human diaspora."

I'm mixed vietnamese and black.
And I do get questioned in fact just last week someone
asked me if I was mixed and I said yea why?
They say I have 'those asian eyes'.
*sigh, I've heard how being mixed in Europe
"is not a big deal" and I wish Americans
could have the same concept.

To everyone :)
I had a question for everyone:
Do you find you have to explain yourself still in 2005?
Meaning, I still find I have to run down the lineage
For people although nine times out of ten they
have already made up their minds before hand lol
This came to mind because I went to Paris in April
and I found the people refreshingly accepting.
Maybe this is a US thing.
What do you think?
