A few thoughts on the proudly celebrated
'AMERICAN HERITAGE / HISTORY MONTHS':
It seems very "interesting" to me that ...
*White History Month=October
*Latino History Month=September-October
*Asian/Pacific Heritage Month =May
*Native American Month=November
*Mixed-Race Heritage Month=May & November
*Jewish Heritage Month=May
*Polish Heritage Month=May
*Lithuanian Heritage Month=March
*Italian Heritage Month=May
*Irish Heritage Month=March
*etc. and so on
(as, EVERY single group found in the United
States is allowed to have it's own designation
of an 'AMERICAN HERITAGE / HISTORY MONTH'
... none of which are government-sponsored -- as,
it is up to each group to plan, organize and market
the events held for their own heritage celebration.)
... AND YET, the only 'AMERICAN HERITAGE /
HISTORY MONTH' that some people ever seem
to "complain" about is the one that Celebrates
and Accentuates all of the very many 'Positive'
things about the histories and heritages of the
'Black' people that are found in the United States.
The Month that was selected for a time of celebration
for the people who are of any part-Black lineage is
that of February (which is BOTH the shortest Month
of the year AND is also one that 'shared' with and for
many other Cultural, Ethnic and Other types of events).
The whole PURPOSE OF each of the 'AMERICAN HERITAGE
/ HISTORY MONTHS' is simply to allow the people of the
nation to have the opportunity to KNOW more about all
of the many groups that have formed together to help
to create the United States of America AND to also
allow each group the chance to BOTH CELEBRATE
its’ own contribution to the history AND heritage
of American and to INVITE others to JOIN IN
with them ON the events that they plan for it.
What those certain individuals who complain about
"ALL AMERICAN" Events such as the "HERITAGE
/ HISTORY MONTHS" that are celebrated within
the United States (especially those who "single
out" the 'Black History Month' celebration) don't
seem to understand are the following facts ...
Most people are very PROUD of their heritage
(and also that of any other American group)
and they simply just WANT TO SHARE it with
others AND let others join in with them as they
CELEBRATE the contribution that their people
have made to both American and world history .
Contrary to a very popular misconception -- the
nation's "HERITAGE / HISTORY MONTHS' do NOT
exist in order for any group to 1) complain about
past sufferings; 2) air grievances about society;
3) make other groups "feel guilty"; or 4) proclaim
one's own group as being "superior" or "better".
THEY ARE SIMPLY MONTHS WHEREIN the PEOPLE
who are of any given "racial"; 'cultural' and / or
'ethnic' categorization are encouraged to SHARE
the history of THEIR achievements and HERITAGE
with others AND to also encourage others to LEARN
ABOUT AND JOIN IN on THE CELEBRATIONS OF what
their specific group has contributed to the American
culture and history -- so that everyone then has
the opportunity to both witness and understand
just exactly WHO & WHAT AMERICA IS MADE OF.
If one comes from a given group that they just
happen to know anything POSITIVE about --
it would seem only rational that they, AS A
PROUD AMERICAN, would want to and also
be willing to SHARE these facts WITH OTHER
AMERICANS -- SO that EVERYONE CAN then
have the opportunity to SEE & understand 'all'
of WHAT MAKES THE NATION so very GREAT.
Just a thought.
Thank you for your time and I hope
you enjoyed reading this information.
Please also have a great day! =D

For the record ... the newest (perhaps more "PC" ?)
term for 'WHITE HISTORY MONTH' that is currently
being used by certain organizations IS that
of "EUROPEAN-AMERICAN" HISTORY MONTH'
AND IT IS still held each and every OCTOBER.]
