Poem - What color are you
- What color are you sizeThey asked me what color I was
and I said 'does it matter?
will it help or prevent me
from climbing up the ladder'?
They said 'no its just for the records
it has nothing to do with you,
actually we don't care if you're
red...white...black or blue'
I said 'if that's the case, then you
all are not really concerned with race,
so when you see my color will I see
a change of expression on your face?'
They said 'oh no we only judge
the person not the color of skin,
we are bound by the oath of equality
which rules we shall not bend'.
So I went there in person
so they could see me face to face,
I was prepared to fight a legal battle!
if I was denied because of race?
So I knocked on their door
and the door slowly began to crack,
awe all were shocked and amazed,
to see that we all were black.
