                        Leave it all behind

      Two elderly black ladies
      were sitting in the sun`
      talking about yesteryear
and all the things they’ve done,

      How the world has changed
      and nothing seems the same,
      how their romantic desires
      has lost its flame,

How they out lived their husbands
      and friends along the way,
      and looking at old photographs
      when their hair wasn’t gray,

      Sitting in their rocking chairs
      with nowhere to go,
      like two black wall flowers
      putting on a show,

Their curtains are coming down and
they know that the end is growing near,
As they share passages from the Bible`
and how they’ll meet Death with no fear,

For now they have grown tired
and their bodies long to rest,
      as they clutch their crucifixes
      hanging from their breasts,

There’s really no reason to stay
      because they done it all,
Now they sit like two lost orphans
      awaiting GODS call,

      Longing to meet loved ones
that have gone on years before,
Praying to GOD Almighty to send Jesus
      knocking at their door,

They wont pack no suit cases`
they’ll just have a pleasant sip of wine,
As they grasp the hand of their Savior`
      and leave it all behind.
