                    Mixed

I'm too black to be white`
and too light to be black,
      Living between two worlds`
on both sides of the tracks,

      Some people have a problem`
with the way that I look.
As they strum through the pages`
      of their catalog book,

Not knowing where to place me`
because my picture does not appear,
As they wish to erase my existence`
than to live with me in Fear,

For they see apart of them selves`
mixed in the color of my skin,
      Like a reflection of a War`
in which they know they will never win,

      Because I carry two cultures`
and I belong too two sides,
      In a divided society`
      where hateful racism still abides,

Yes I am Mixed and also
a new Generation that's here to stay,
You can either share my colorful gifts`
or see me as your Judgment DAY.
