and Registration Process
for the 'Cherokee Nation'
One location for Cherokee descendants to both
Enroll and have themselves Registered into the
Nation, is via the Tribal Complex Registration
office -- found in the state of Oklahoma.
The toll free number is 1-800-256-0671
and the regular number is 1-918-456-0671.
Interested parties can ask for an enrollment
packet by mail or pick one up in person.
The Tribe also sends a representative out to
various communities several times per month.
The schedule for the field reps can be
obtained from the Registration office.
Enrolling as a Citizen of the Cherokee Nation
is a separate process from Registering to Vote.
Once the individual has a Tribal Membership card, the
next step will be to visit the Voter Registration Office.
The office manager can assist with obtaining the
voter registration form, and can assist applicants
in identifying a district to vote in and also to get
educated on the current issues in the nation.
The Principal Chief has stated that all
Cherokee citizens will be treated as equals.
