      The 'Lucas / Locus' Family

      Locus.jpg (116313 bytes)

John Lucas/ Locus (1843-1926) and his wife Delphia Taylor
Lucas (1850-1923) of Nash County, North Carolina, about 1900.
Oral history of the family states that John, although of
Mixed-Race, could "pass" for White, and that Delphia was "indian".
He was probably the son of Martin and Eliza Locus of Nash County.
Delphia was the daughter Dempsey Taylor and his wife Louisa Pace.

grandchildren, children of their son Edward Locus and his wife Cora Locus.
